I have always enjoyed the challenge of creative pursuits.
In Sydney, Australia I attended the Julian Ashton Art School, the oldest art school in Australia. It was after this creative pursuit that I set a course for study in watercolor. My recent works are, again, the results of workshops, classes and my solo attempts using instructional books and videos.
I enjoy the completely absorbing, meditative quality of botanical painting. It is an antidote for me to the busy, noisy world we all live in; studying, growing, drawing and painting nourishes my soul.
While I enjoy the versatility of watercolor I continue to challenge myself in all mediums; graphite, acrylics, pastel, watercolor pencil and colored pencil works.
Committed to the lifelong pursuit of artistic growth, BJ is currently advancing her studies through an intensive atelier apprenticeship at Miano Academy of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Through rigorous training in observation, figure drawing, and classical painting techniques, she continues to refine her craftsmanship while expanding both her technical abilities and creative expression across multiple mediums.
